Since 2011, Colorado based, Hemp Connoisseur Magazine has covered the emerging legal cannabis industries with a reputation for having integrity and style. It was this reputation that brought leading industry pioneers to approach us with a simple request: Could we create a completely unbiased cannabis competition, in which the best product really wins through a fair and thoughtful judging process? Sounds simple right? Well simple isn't always easy. After countless interviews/sessions with some of the best producers Colorado cannabis has to offer. (okay it was a pretty awesome research experience) the THC Championship was born. Short story, getting longer... We built this competition around what the industry wanted. Since its inception in 2012, Hemp Connoisseur's THC Championship has cemented itself as the gold standard of cannabis competitions in Colorado. When a company takes home one of our coveted emerald glass trophies, those in the know understand there is no higher recognition than beating out the best of the best in a fair arena. If you want true bragging rights, this the ultimate competition to enter.

TOP TEN REASONS WHY WE ARE THE GOLD STANDARD CANNABIS COMPETITION
Competitors don't get to be sponsors. In other words they pay the same as any other competitor so there can be no perceived bias. You can't "buy a trophy."
No one employed by HC gets to judge the product. We are facilitators of the process only.
Judges are made up of your everyday consumer and industry professional not employed by a competing company.
All flower and concentrate entries are blind so the judges are not influenced by strain names.
All product is legally purchased by judges at a host dispensary so no one involved has broken any state laws.
Our judges are given at least 30 days to test the product. Desired effect is a judging parameter so no "piggy backing" multiple products in a session is allowed.
Our process is completely transparent for all competitors. Upon request, we will share the full judging results for all entries win or lose. This direct-from-consumer judge feedback is worth the price of the entry fee alone.
We are focused on providing sustainable packaging that also preserves the entries and best enhances the judging experience.
We are constantly improving the competition based on competitor and judge feedback.
